The 2017 FIA World Touring Car Championship season heads to Qatar next for a thrilling showdown with three prestigious titles still up for grabs.
WTCC Race of Qatar, the final event of the 2017 season, will take place at the Losail International Circuit from 30 November-1 December when the FIA World Touring Car Championship for Drivers and Manufacturers, plus the WTCC Trophy will be decided.
With 60 points up for grabs, seven drivers are still in mathematical contention for the coveted world title.
Thed Björk heads Norbert Michelisz by 6.5 points in the battle to win the FIA World Touring Car Championship for Drivers, while Volvo Polestar heads Honda by 12.5 points in the race for the FIA World Touring Car Championship for Manufacturers.
It’s also tightly poised in the WTCC Trophy with Tom Chilton just half a point ahead of his Sébastien Loeb Racing team-mate, the Moroccan driver Mehdi Bennani, while Rob Huff is also firmly in contention, seven points behind Chilton.
On Thursday 30thNovember, track activity starts at 18:30 with 45’ of Free Practice 1 and finishes at 21:15 with another 45’ for the Free Practice 2.
On Friday 1st December, Qualifying sessions are from 14:30 until 15:30, when it starts the session of Manufacturers Against the Clock (MAC3). The Opening Race is scheduled at 21:00 and the Main Race will be at 22:10.
On the same dates, it will take place also the opening round of Qatar Touring Car Championship as a support race of the WTCC Race of Qatar.
The entrance at the Grandstand and PADDOCK is free for the 2-days event and the VIP ticket is 1.200QR for Thursday and Friday or 700QR only for Friday.
At the Paddock area, there will be a food court filled with an array of favourites from Shake Shack, Nando’s, Popcorn Girl, Amazing Waffles and Camel Cookies. You will also find an official Losail Circuit Sports Club merchandising tent at the Paddock Area.
