Abdulla Al Qubaisi clinched the Qatar Superstock 600 title after two thrilling races held during the last round at Losail International Circuit.

In the first race, Al Qubaisi and Al Sulaiti were overtaking position during all the race but in the last three laps, Al Sulaiti had a problem in the gear paddle and finished in third place. Mashel Al Naimi took advantage of it and finished in second place.

Al Qubaisi started the second race with a gap of only three points in front of Al Sulaiti so all the pressure was for the defendant champion to finish the race in front of Abdulla.

Saeed Al Sulaiti lead most of the race in front of Abdulla but just three laps to go, Abdulla made the final move and overtook him and got the victory. Mashel Al Naimi finished third in the second race.

With a total of 213 points, Al Qubaisi is crowned the new QSTK600 champion’ I am really really happy for the whole season. Everybody was working with me very hard, the mechanics, family, Saeed , my supporter number one.  The whole championship was really hard fighting with Saeed , he is working really hard and strong so it was a very difficult win’ said Abdulla

‘In the race 2 I pushed very hard and I didn’t know I was going to win the championship until the last lap. I overtook Saeed in the last lap and tried to create a bit of gap and I won’ he added

Saeed Al Sulaiti fighted until the last race of the seaon and finished with 205 points ‘ Unfortunately, in the first race I lost the gear paddle in the middle of the race and I just tried to minimize the lost and I finished in third place’ said Al Sulaiti.

‘The second race was one of the strongest one of the championship, until the last lap we were fighting with Abdulla. In the last lap, heading to corner one we overtook three slow riders but one stay in the line that altered our race but at the end of the day, Abdulla deserves the championship, we worked really hard and coaching him for the last three years is an honor to see him winning now’ added Al Sulaiti.

‘I am very proud of him and I feel like his win is a double win for me so I was waiting for this moment since we started training together.  I won the last three years and now I lost but this is a motivation to work harder for next season and be back on the top’ he ended.

Mashel Al Naimi finished in third place in the standings with 178 points ‘It was a very good season, we fight until the end to do the best result. Last two rounds we struggled with the bike and at the end the championship had to be decided between Saeed or Abdulla.
